Lawrence Holmes grew with his brother, Nicholas. They were different, as most twins were, personality wise. Lawrence was always the one with the short fuse while Nicholas was the one who remained calm. They grew up with the same problems as anyone else. They grew up having the same fights, the same fun, the same room.

One day, when out on a drive in their new car, they got into a quick argument that ended in an accident. A stray dog had wandered into the road and Nicholas swerved at the last moment only to crash into a ditch. They left with their lives but something was never right. When the twins finally came to and finally got discharged from the hospital, they couldn’t help but feel like something’s gone amiss.

Lawrence was more upfront about it. He demanded to know who replaced his parents with look a likes. He wanted to know what they wanted, what they could possibly gain from it. He grew so violent with his delusions that his parents didn’t have a choice but to send him to Dalton with his twin.

His twin who later appeared to accuse him to be one of the impostors just before they were sent to Dalton Asylum. Lawrence was deeply upset, telling his brother that he was the real Lawrence. Nicholas never believed him. It would’ve been better if Nicholas lashed out instead of coldly ignoring him and shooting down his claims.

Nicholas stood by as he watched the person who claimed to be his brother act out the same way Lawrence would. But he wasn’t Lawrence. He couldn’t possibly be Lawrence. He was a very good actor, the impostor, Nicholas thought. They all were. But they weren’t getting anything from him. He didn’t speak much anyway.

It wasn’t until they got sent to Dalton that Nicholas finally asked what they wanted. They didn’t have to send him to an isolated place with a person who wasn’t his twin to get what they wanted. They just had to ask and send him back to his real family. They sent him to the asylum anyway with a pitying look. Lawrence - or whoever he was - was hurt too. He couldn’t care less. He just wanted his brother back.

Kurt Hummel didn’t have it easy growing up. Sure his father was always there, though sometimes clueless, but losing his mother and being bullied were constants. He kept pushing, leaning to his father for support, more so when he finally came out.

It was easier later on, when he gathered up all of his strength and also met his boyfriend, Blaine Anderson. The bullying was more bearable. His father remarried and now he had a wonderful stepmother. Then the migraines started to come.

It started with headaches but after a while, the headaches wouldn’t let up and a whole new set of problems were given. His body felt weird. He’d pass by mirrors and he would back away, shocked to see his arms ballooning to great sizes. After two, three blinks, they would become normal again. This continued for a while and is scared him. He didn’t know how to move around rooms or crowds, unsure if he would hit them or throw them to the ground when he suddenly grew. Scarier still when objects that were far seemed near and objects that were near seemed far.

Finally, Burt and Carole sat Kurt down and asked him what was wrong. Kurt admitted what was happening to him, tentative, afraid of what they would think. He felt like he’d regressed to his old, fearful self. But Carole suggested Dalton and Kurt agreed to be admitted. He needed it to stop and Dalton seemed like the only place he could do that.

Shane Anderson was always a high-spirited young man. His brother, Blaine, who is also admitted for his own disorder, tried to keep him in check. Shane never really bothered to listen, thinking instructions were guidelines that could be followed but at the same time could be ignored.

His childlike ways made it easy for him to creep into people’s hearts, until, of course, it was all too much. Followed by reckless decision after another, Shane was like a ten year old constantly on a sugar rush. Even when hurt, he’d always find a reason to say “Let’s do that again” owing to the headaches to those around him. It was then that his parents decided to put their foot down and checked him into the asylum with his brother.

Shane continued to act like a child having a tantrum, not wanting to be told what to do or to be told that he had “problems”. To him he was just a person living his life to the fullest, to him he was a person who didn’t want to grow up, no matter what other people thought.

As a child, Erin was outgoing and eager to try new things. She was often climbing up trees and exploring places she shouldn’t and was a very independent and loving child. As she got older, she came out as a lesbian and began being teased by classmates. She formed a group of friends in Blaine, Shane, Micah and Jude, and this is where her diagnosis began to manifest. She needed to see them every day, needed to be around them, needed them with her. If they weren’t around, she would panic quickly and be unsure what to do with herself.

Erin met her now girlfriend in high school and became instantly attached to her, depending on her for everything moreso than anyone else. When Jude was attacked and died, her fear caused her disorder to become even greater, with Erin unwilling to be alone or not have someone around her. Her parents finally realized how her disorder had progressed and placed her in the care of Dalton Asylum in the hope that her dependency on others would lessen to a point where she could continue her life. Erin is a yellow risk and only agreed to come to Dalton Asylum if she was given Rebecca (her girlfriend) as a roommate.

It does not take much for Erin to grow attached to someone and require them to be around her. Though she is most attached to Rebecca  if she is wholly unable to have her, she will accept the company of anyone. It is rare that Erin consciously makes her own decisions.

Dwight Houston had always presented unusual behaviour since birth, but problems became most prominent after the death of Alan, his younger brother, when he was 13. After his brother’s death, Dwight still claimed to be able to see and converse with him, often believing that Alan hadn’t died and was till with them. Over time, paranoia and an fixation with supernatural entities became pronounced and his mother placed him as full time patient into Dalton Asylum.

Dwight formed camaraderie with fellow sufferers of paranoia and under the belief that demons, spirits and evil haunt the world. Sadie, Lucas, Morgan and Laura are his fellow ‘hunters’ and they are a close group who share their beliefs. Dwight often sees and holds conversations with his brother and refuses to believe that Alan has passed.

Dwight was admitted at the age of 14 and has been a full-time patient at Dalton Asylum for 3 years. He was assigned an orange risk colour, making him a high risk, but not a full threat warning.

Celine had a normal childhood - she and her brother were close, and he spent a lot of his spare time teaching her guitar. Her father died when they were just starting their teens, and it threw the whole family off. Their mother switched off, and Sinclair had to take care of his mother and little sister as well as himself. Celine and Sinclair both threw themselves into music and both joined bands.

But as Celine progressed in her career, alongside her bandmates Nicolle, Hallie and Jade, she started to put her career before her health. She would throw up everything she ate so she could keep her perfect rockstar image, as well as go all out in gigs. She’d go anything to be in the public eye - drunk nights out, public affairs, coming out as lesbian. Okay, that last one is true but she soaked up all the attention she got from it.

When Sinclair and his band was admitted to Dalton Asylum, Celine and her’s were quick to follow. She didn’t want to leave her brother, but she admitted she had a problem. The rockstar lifestyle took it’s toll on both groups and now they must begin their life of rehabilitation.

Drew had always loved science and spent his childhood reading up and watching science documentaries. Everything he does ends in an explosion, but he loves it. He loves to watch things react, and his favorite thing is when things get set alight. Drew and Satoru, his best friend since they were in Kindergarten, are the resident pyromaniacs. They can be found in their room, making potions, bombs, gasses, etc.

Three times within the past four years, Drew and Satoru have almost burned the building down. They’re both attached to each other in the way in which is more dangerous than friendship. Drew panics if he’s not around Satoru for a certain amount of time, and gets anxious when they have separate therapy sessions.

Both the boys are in Red area because they will light fires and test out gasses and potions in all areas of Dalton Asylum. If they are caught lighting a fire or trying to poison someone, they will be isolated.

Clay had always been loud, and he always demanded attention from everyone since the moment he was born. But while he was a child and it was cute, as he grew older then his parents noticed that their son shouldn’t be acting out so much.

Clay spent hours getting ready in the morning, would very over-emotional if someone said or did anything that he thought was degrading to him, and he would blame himself for every little thing that went wrong, whether it was his fault or not.

He threw himself into music lessons in the hopes he became famous, giving him the feeling of being loved not only by people near him but people he’d never met before.

They sent him to therapy at Dalton when he was 11 and he was admitted as an outpatient, but when puberty hit and he got progressively worse, he became a full time patient. He was quick to change emotions, needed to be the center of attention, and would feel panicky if he wasn’t.

Out of the three brothers, Al is the youngest. There was a 7 year gap between each son, so Al never had anyone his own age to play with until he was old enough to go to school. But while he lacked in that department, he gained in everything else.

His parents spoiled him to the point where they couldn’t say no even if what he asked was crazy. By the time he was 8, he had everything a little boy could want - a motorcycle, a pet snake, a large indoor swimming pool - they even moved the family to Paris because Al wanted to go. Because both his brothers were unstable, his parents gave him everything so he’d remain happy.

But that effected him badly because when someone said no to him, he’d throw a massive fit to the point of attacking someone until they said yes. Like the time a friend from school didn’t buy him an ice-cream and he punched him in the face, breaking his nose.

So when Al was only 9, he was sent to Dalton Asylum alongside his brothers to calm down and learn that not everything belongs to him. But now, years later, he remains at Dalton due to there being nowhere else for the boy to go with his parent’s always travelling and his brothers at Dalton, too.
